Ever since, I begun writing. Well of course at first it was all poems. I never really written a story (be it a short story or a novel, novelette etc.) until I was in college. During college, I tried to be a part of the school paper and I was blessed to be accepted. I even went as far as Acting Editor-in-Chief. In college, my skills in writing was honed. The previous poem evolved into short stories, features, opinion columns and news
articles.
On my last year in college, I began to think "What would I do with writing? I really really want to continue writing even after I graduate, but where would I get me write-up published?"
And then I discovered Wattpad. It was a sanctuary for me. It was a venue where writers aspiring writers and readers convene, where we have the opportunity to post our literary pieces which will be available for everyone to read and where a large collection of stories waiting to be discovered. It was a perfect haven for writers and readers alike. And I'm one of those who had ventured so much that I finally got the chance for my works to be read not only on the web, but in an actual book.
Yes, I got the chance to fulfill my dream of having my novel published on print.
In Wattpad, I met people whom now I treasure as friends. We talked and meet, and come up with a very interesting project. We decided to go for collaboration stories. Each of us has a story where our main character is connected with the characters of the others' story. It was a really fun project and we could say, we have been successful enough. Our efforts were paid off when one our the stories was discovered. That's when we knew it won't be long before ours will be discovered too.
After about 5 months, my chance has been given. My story A Man's Life will now be published under Life is Beautiful, under Precious Pages Corporation. The release date is yet to be announced.
